The ‘must do’ day lagoon cruise aboard the 21 metre Polynesian style vaka (boat) Titi-ai-Tonga. Mondays to Saturdays from 10am for six hours of pure lagoon magic.
The cruise stops at several motu (small islets) including One Foot Island after passing by Akaiami, once a stopover for huge TEAL (Tasman Empire Airways Limited) Shorts Solent flying boats en route from Fiji to Tahiti on the famous weekly Coral Route.
There is time for snorkelling and swimming before indulging in a delicious barbecue lunch cooked right on-board, complimented by a wonderful array of fresh salads and fruit.
Anyone who has not snorkelled before will find our tour guides only too happy to help you gain the confidence you need to experience the wonder of the lagoon’s underwater world. It's not that hard and after a short lesson most people find it easy.
The vaka has comfortable covered seating as well as deck sun loungers. Access is easily negotiated for people with physical challenges including those in wheel chairs.
Snorkelling gear and towels are provided. We recommend you bring only a light change of clothing, sun protection, passport to be stamped on One Foot Island and your camera.
